Closing an Oncord Account on Behalf of a Client
As an Oncord Agency Partner, a client may request help closing their Oncord account and deleting their website.
Oncord is a monthly subscription, with billing processed on the 1st of each month. Customers are not locked into fixed-term contracts.
If you’re not on good terms with the client, our team can handle the termination for you. Feel free to contact us for assistance.
Before Closing An Account
1. Back-Up Important Data
Ensure the client has downloaded a back-up of their data via
Dashboard > Settings > Back-ups.
2. Migrate Email Hosting (If Applicable)
If the client is hosting e-mail accounts with Oncord, they should migrate to another email provider before closing their account, otherwise mail will go offline.
3. Migrate DNS Hosting (If Applicable)
If the client's domain name is pointed to Oncord’s name servers (ns1.oncord.com etc), they need to migrate DNS to another provider. To check the name servers in use, go to Dashboard > Settings > Domains.
How to Respond to the Client
We recommend the following e-mail template when a client requests to close their account:
--- --- --- --- ---
Hi [Client's Name],
Sad to see that you are migrating away from Oncord! If you have the time, it would be great to hear your feedback on what could have made Oncord a better fit for you.
Before we close your account, please confirm:
1. You’ve downloaded a backup of your data via Dashboard > Settings > Backups: [PASTE BACKUP LINK]
2. You’ve arranged a new e-mail provider if you were hosting email with Oncord.
3. Your new web provider has made arrangements for DNS hosting, as the DNS hosting service Oncord provided will be terminated.
Once you confirm the above, I'll process the termination right away to prevent further billing.

Granting the Client Admin Access (If Needed)
The email above assumes the client has admin access. If they don’t, follow these instructions to invite them as an administrator before proceeding.
