Test Conditions
The Test Condition tool in Oncord's Automation engine is a powerful feature that allows you to create more targeted and sophisticated workflows. By setting customized conditions within your automation, you can ensure that actions are only triggered when specific criteria are met.
In this guide, we’ll walk through an example of using the Test Condition to send an automated email only when a contact is added to a specific group, has their password set, and has made a purchase.
To get started:
- From your Oncord Dashboard, go to Marketing > Automation.
- Click the "New Automation" button at the top of the page.
- Enter a clear title for your automation in the Automation Title field. For example, you could use: "On Test Group Add > Test Password & Product Purchase > Send Email Campaign".
- This helps keep your automation workflows organized and easy to reference.
- In the "Upon Event" dropdown, select "Groups - When someone is added to a group". This means the automation will trigger when a contact is added to the specified group.
- From the list of groups you’ve created in Dashboard > Customers > Groups, choose the group that will activate the automation.
- Click on the Test Conditions option to add your first condition to the workflow.
- Click the empty field to reveal the available conditions.
- Select "Contacts - has password set" to ensure the contact has set a password.
Note:
- To make this condition negative (e.g., only trigger if the password is not set), click the "=" button.
- If you want to remove a condition, simply click the "x" button next to it.
- Click the empty field again to add the second condition: "Sales - has purchased products".
- Specify the relevant product(s), value, quantity, payment status, and timeframe that will define the condition.
Note:
- You can adjust the condition logic by clicking "And" to switch between "And" or "Or" conditions. This gives you flexibility in defining how multiple conditions work together.
- After setting up the test conditions, proceed to configure the "Send E-mail to Customer" option and follow the instructions to complete the automation.
With the Test Condition tool, you can ensure that your automated emails or actions are triggered only when specific
criteria are met, making your workflows smarter and more effective.
