Backing Up Your Website
Automatic Backups
Oncord automatically backs-up your website and account multiple times per day, so you can rest assured that your data is safe.
Our backup policy is currently:
-
Local snapshots (same datacentre)
- Twice daily, retained for 7 days;
- Weekly, retained for 4 weeks;
-
Monthly, retained for 4 months.
-
Remote snapshots (secondary datacentre)
- Daily, retained for 14 days;
- Weekly, retained for 8 weeks;
- Monthly, retained for 6 months.
All backups are encrypted during transit and at rest.
Changes to individual records are also recorded under Settings > Changes.
How to Back Up your Website:
It's also good practice to manually back up your website periodically, especially before making significant changes or installing new apps, to ensure you have a recent and secure copy. This guide will walk you through the process of creating a manual backup, giving you peace of mind and control over your data.
Your website backup will be saved as a zip file which you can download and store somewhere safe. Take care when storing that backup, as it
contains sensitive information such as your contact database and sales invoices.
